SRT input for Aximmetry

Hi,

My UE based Aximmetry productions use 4 x SRT camera feeds which I currently take in via a dedicated copy of vMix and then NDI into Aximmetry (all on same PC).  This works well, but is limited to 4 cameras (max number of NDI outputs in vMix is 4).

I tried the new SRT input feature in Aximmetry 2023.1.0, but the latency is around 300ms longer than what I get when using the above method (SRT latency settings the same, test stream coming from same source etc.)  Is this to be expected, or is there a setting that I am missing to speed up the internal processing of the SRT signal?

I am planning on using SRTMiniServer going forward for more than 4 cameras, but wanted to try direct to Aximmetry too.

Many thanks,

Phil.

Hi Phil,

If I understand correctly, the Camera -> SRT -> Aximmetry stream is slower than Camera -> SRT -> Vmix -> NDI ->Aximmetry.

Did you keep the latency at 120ms in the SRT device window?:

Hi Eifert,

Thanks for your reply.  Yes, you understand correctly, SRT direct to Aximmetry was slower than through vMix then into Aximmetry through NDI.

When testing with Aximmetry, I changed the latency in the 'Add Channel' window to 50ms because we have fast fibre-to-fibre public internet from our studio to my control room (RTT is around 5 - 10ms, so I have allowed plenty of headroom).

Best regards,

Phil.

Hi Phil,

You could try even going down to 20ms. And turn off vMix when sending SRT directly to Aximmetry.
The next major release of Aximmetry will have some changes that will probably help with this delay.

Hi Phil,

We are thrilled to announce an upgrade to SRT in our latest software release, Aximmetry Version 2023.3.1, which is now available for download. This update notably reduces the delay (latency) in SRT streaming.

Thank you for your continued support and feedback.

Warmest regards,

Hi Eifert,

Thanks very much for that information, I will look forward to trying it out!
