Problem with UE 5.1 project

Hi

I just installed new aximmetry and it worked *once* then after closing aximmetry and relaunching I get this error:

[LogOutputDevice] Ensure condition failed: SwapChain4.GetReference() [File:E:\Build2\UnrealEngine\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\Windows\WindowsD3D12Viewport.cpp] [Line: 557]

Tried reinstalling, recooking but nothing. Any suggestions?

Hi,

We will need a bit more information to pinpoint the source of this error.

Does Aximmetry crash after this or there is no image coming from Unreal?
What kind of Platforms - Windows settings do you have in Unreal: Edit->Project Settings?
You could try setting Targeted RHIs to DirectX 11 to see if that fixes the error.

Does the error happen in Live Sync? https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-aximmetry-de-users-unreal-engine-5/ue5-how-to-install-and-work-with-the-unreal-engine-based-de-edition/#interactive-editing

Does the error happen with other projects? You can create and cook a new Aximmetry Blank project to see it works with other projects:

And does the same error happen if you play the project in the original Epic's Unreal?

Warmest regards,

Thank you for the tip. I tried going back to DirectX11 on SM5 and SM6 and was able to OPEN the project after cook - good news.

The bad news is that I tried the same project to use DirectX12 (default, right?) throws back the same error the moment Aximmetry wants to open the Unreal Project. After closing Aximmetry I get the error again and no camera view from unreal project with DirectX12. I'm using a Basic project from the aximmetry templates for Unreal.

This error shows up on DirectX12 cooked project..

[LogOutputDevice] Ensure condition failed: SwapChain4.GetReference() [File:E:\Build2\UnrealEngine\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\Windows\WindowsD3D12Viewport.cpp] [Line: 557]
[LogOutputDevice] Ensure condition failed: SwapChain4.GetReference() [File:E:\Build2\UnrealEngine\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\Windows\WindowsD3D12Viewport.cpp] [Line: 508]

This time the project opened (in DirectX12) but still throws the error. DirectX11 does not show error. I'm using the mose basic Level from aximmetry bundle "\Tutorials\Unreal\Basic.xcomp that I cooked in Unreal 5.1

So should we stick to DirectX11 for now until it seems to be a bug somewhere?

Hi,

You can stick with DirectX11 while we are figuring out the source of the error.

Do you use HDR monitor? If yes, can you try running the project while HDR is turned off in windows, or using a non-HDR monitor?
Also, can you describe what kind of GPU and CPU your computer has and capture card if any?

Warmest regards,
