I'm using Aximmetry DE with a single Blackmagic Ursa Pro 12k, a Blackmagic decklink pro card and vive trackers.
Are there any advantages to adding Genlock hardware to this configuration? My understanding is that Aximmetry will automatically handle frame syncing of the vive tracker data and the video input without needing to introduce genlock.
But in this scenario, is it possible that the video delay could change over time, thus going out of sync with the tracker delay value? Would genlock ensure a consistent delay of whole frames going to the card input?
I don’t see how genlock would help with tracking in this scenario since the Vive can’t be genlocked and Aximmetry doesn’t know or care if your camera is genlocked. Everything is locked to the video signal internally in Aximmetry, regardless if your camera is genlocked or not. Genlock on the output of the Decklink happens at the hardware level, after the frames have altered been sent to the Decklink. All this is according to my understanding, so hopefully someone from Aximmetry can elaborate further on this.
