Depending on your needs and setup, a tracked camera with virtual camera movements might be enough for you: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/setting-up-virtual-sets-with-tracked-cameras/#additional-virtual-camera-movements 

If you need to use a Mixed Camera, then there is no setting in the Mixed Camera which would smooth the transition between camera Inputs. But you can set up a logic like this to do so:

This will smooth the transition from tracked cameras to virtual cameras, and smooth the transition between virtual cameras. You might want to do the same with the focus as with the FOV in the above screenshot.
Note that the transition between the billboards will be instant, as you can not see the tracked camera billboard from the virtual camera and vice versa. Also, the virtual camera billboard will not look at the camera while the transition is happening, to fix that, the Mixed camera compound has to be edited. If you want, I can write down how to do that, but it will be much more complex than the above logic.

Do you want to do what I did in my previous post's picture? Or do you even want the billboards to look at the camera while the transition is happening?
