3 Optitrack Cameras on 1 pc?

Hello,

I'm testing Aximmetry right now and it is very promising. I use Unreal as it is, for my Virtual Production studio, and I have a 3 tracked cameras with Optitrack.

Is it possible to have 3 cameras tracked with only one pc if I switch in Aximmetry?

Thank you

Hi,

Yes. You can even track up to 8 different tracked cameras with the [Common_Studio]:Compounds\TrackedCam_Unreal\TrackedCam_Unreal_Prev_8-Cam_3-Billboard.xcomp compound inside Aximmetry.

However, you can simultaneously render one virtual camera image with Unreal for Aximmetry per PC. This is due to some limitations in Unreal Engine.

So in summary, you can set up all the 3 tracked cameras in Aximmetry, you can see their video image, switch between them, have their own billboard setups, keying, etc. But simultaneously you will only render one final virtual camera image if you are using one PC. In a multi-machine setup, you can easily use more PC-s in Aximmetry and render multiple different virtual camera views simultaneously.

Warmest regards,

Sorry for late reply, thank you for your help.

Can I still see the preview of the three cameras?

Just out of curiosity, what if I choose SE (Broadcast)? Do I still have this limitation or I can render three output from one pc at the same time?

Thank you,

Hi,

You can see in the preview monitor the keyed billboard of your three cameras. But Unreal will not render anything around them.

If you use Aximmetry to render the virtual studio, then you don't have this limitation. And in the matrix preview monitor, you will be able to see every camera angle and the virtual studio behind them rendered:

However, there is no ready-made solution to output more than one rendered camera angle from one computer, even in the case of Aximmetry rendered studios (SE). For that, you will need to edit the camera compound. If needed, I can write down what edits you need to make for that.

Warmest regards,

Thank you very much, we don't own a broadcast license yet, so I think it is too early, but when we will finally upgrade I'll kindly ask for a help.
The idea is to start with a single SE or DE license, see how it goes and then upgrade for a multi-machine setup.

Btw, little off-topic, do you think Sony FS7 + Optitrack + Ambient Lockit + Glassmark/indiemark could be a good setup using Aximmetry?

Hi,

Seems nothing wrong with that setup and you should be able to use all of them with Aximmetry.

However, we can not rate or suggest specific hardware setups. And there are people here on the forum who have much more experience with hardware than me. You could start a new post about your setup if you want more feedback on it. Maybe others will reply to it.

Warmest regards,
