Multi Camera and Machine setup questions

Hiya. I'm about to set up a multi camera environment, I have 2 machines and 2 tracked cameras.

In the documentation it says that the project locations must be the same (eg a network share). I understand that the configurations are to be the same on loading the projects but I'm wondering whether this matters once everything is live and running.

We use pretty extensive version control so I'm wondering if it would be possible to just load the exact same change set of each project file on both machines and load from there?

This would also help if/when we try and do multi-cam shoots across different geographical locations where latency and bandwidth to the same storage might be an issue.

If you keep the project in the same local path on each computer (like under /Documents/Aximmetry) and sync the changes it should also work. We copy heavy video assets to each workstation in our multi-machine setup to avoid oversaturating the network and that works well.

Ok I'll give that a go. We already sync with Plastic SCM so everything is exactly the same. I just wasn't sure if there were temp files created at runtime that were important.

As long as you’re syncing the cooked project it should be fine.

Interesting, we pretty much exclusively use a live link rather than a cooked project. Maybe I just need to give it all a test.

Ah, Live Linked might work, but I’m not sure how in a multi-machine setup.
