Axi for UE 5 - cooking error

 

Hi, recently I switched to UE 5 for axi, sadly when I cook my project it gives me an error from the screen posted below. 

After trying load level to axi it gives this error:

“Cooked data could not be loaded for "E:\Unreal\Test_axi_UE_5_0.uproject". Try cooking the project in the Unreal Editor for Aximmetry.”

Any possible solutions to solve this?

Hi,

Which Unreal 5 for Aximmetry do you use, the beta or 2022.5.0?
Also, do you use any Unreal plugins?

You could try unistalling Unreal 5 for Aximmetry and installing it again.

We use UE for Axi ver. 2022.5.0. I try many things:

- reinstall UE for Axi

- reinstall NET Framework

- trying different version of NET Framework 

- reinstall UE for Axi on different network 

- reinstall UE for Axi on different computer 

 

Nothing works for me. Weirder than that stock Unreal Engine 5 normally cooks projects (using cook for Windows function)

Hi,

Do you experience the same cooking error when creating an Aximmetry Blank project and cooking that?

Also, can you copy-paste or upload the full output log?

Yeah I also tried this without any success. I tried cooking with a combination of starter content and ray tracing both on and off variants - same results cooking failed. 

Below I paste link to a log file - I try cooking on different machines because our primary computer with good specs is busy, but the result is no different.

Hi,

The problem is likely caused by the space in the path of the Unreal engine.
Instead of installing into a folder with space like D:\test axi\ , you could try installing into D:\testaxi\ and see if it works like that.

Hi Aximmetry team,

I also have a cooking error. I use UE for Aximmetry 2024.1.0 Version: 5.3.2-0+UE5.
I got rid of all the spaces in my folder structure.
Hopefully you can help, because I really don't know why this is happening. The blank Aximmetry project is cooking perfect without failure.

Hi Mahankel,

Does your project include any plugins that weren't enabled by default? Due to the new plugin installation process, Visual Studio 2022 may be required for some of these plugins, whereas it may not have been necessary before.

But the cooking error didn't go away. I have installed Visual Studio 2022 but still...not working.
The log says that there are a bunch of plugins which are getting ignored. This is a downloaded aximmetry test scene from https://www.3dvirtualstudioset.com/p/news-06-aximmetry-virtual-set/ and I have not messed around in it. That's why I thought it will run immediately.

Hi Marc,

I managed to cook it without any problems.

What I did was rename the folder to remove any spaces.
Then when opening it, I clicked Yes when I was prompted about disabling plugins:

I don't think you need any of these plugins as they are meant for creating assets and are not related to running the scene. Also, they were made in version 4.26 and might not work in 5.3 as they might have been discontinued since then.

I also updated the Aximmetry camera and project files when prompted on the bottom right of the Unreal Editor.

And then I cooked the project without any issues.

Thank you, that's good to know that it works for you! Did you convert it when opening the project with  "Unreal Editor - Aximmetry 2024.1.0" or leave it as is? I got asked to update the camera, but I was not asked about disabling plugins!?
