How to change properties in Unreal to achieve proper mirror image of a reflective desk surface

We have bought a studio set, which contains news anchor desk with a reflective surface. However, reflections are not displayed correctly. The result is not a mirror image, please see below>

Now, this is certainly an easy question to someone knowing Unreal well, but after searching and testing several things with planar reflection settings and Ray Tracing settings, I did not succeed getting the reflection right.

Thank you very much in advance to whoever could give answer to this one.

Hi,

Ray tracing doesn't affect planar reflections. You either have ray traced reflections or planar reflections.
More on Unreal ray tracing in Aximmetry here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-aximmetry-de-users/how-to-install-and-work-with-the-unreal-engine-based-de-edition/#ray-tracing-in-unreal-engine

If you are using planar reflections and not ray-traced ones, then read this documentation from Unreal, it helps a lot: https://docs.unrealengine.com/4.27/en-US/BuildingWorlds/LightingAndShadows/PlanarReflections/

Warmest regards,

Thank you very much for the info, Eifert. I solved the problem by changing the glass surface property from translucent to opaque. Afterwards the planar reflection was correct.
