When we pipe our Mapped Audio Source directly into the VideoRecorder node,
no Audio is embedded in the video file.
We found that our audio comes in as 2CH, 16bit, 1920 samples.
As soon as we add an AudioMerge (or any other tool that does audio processing) in between the Audio Source and the Recorder the audio is converted to 2CH, 32F, 1920 samples.
Now the audio is embedded into the recorded video as expected.

Thank you for reporting this.
Aximmetry can record 16bit audio in some of the video formats, like MPEG-2 with Raw PCM Audio Format.
However, we took note of this issue with other video codecs and we will fix it in a future release.
