Tracked camera calibration

Hello,

I've experimenting some difficulties with my tracking system and i would to know what's the correct way for calibrate Manual Zoom and Delay. I follow instructions but at least the result is not perfect ever.

I have another question about real camera. It's possible that lens distortion affects to billboard when you pan the camera to the edge? And if it's yes, what camera you use or recommend for track?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

For determining the Manual Zoom, you could use the tactic explained here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/basic-lens-calibration-without-lens-distortion/#adding-the-first-calibration-point
You don't need to use the Basic camera calibrator. You just need to follow the same method when searching for the right Manual Zoom value.
I am assuming here that you don't have a zoom encoder or zoom tracking, if you do have such a device, then you most likely want to use the CameraCalib.exe or BasicCalib.exe.

For determining Delay, just pan the camera left and right until the real world pans in sync with the virtual world.
In both cases, you can use the studio view as a helper.
It has 2 markers that can help you when setting the Manual Zoom:

Yes, lens distortion affects the billboard when you pan the camera to the edge. We recommend using our Camera Calibrator's lens calibration, more on it here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/camera-calibrator/

Warmest regards,
