Audio sync issues

Just installed Aximmetry on a new qiute powerful machine and started gettin sound sync issues. Did not have it before.  Tried to use delay function in Record section with some luck, but 0.2 value resulted in  async video on preview monitor, even though the recorded file looks ok.

Also approx in 10 minutes of work sound in headphones starts stutter and gets delayed, the recorded file is not affected. Project reboot helps but not for long.

Computer is not overloaded GPU is in 60 to 70% range.

Aximmetry version 2022.1.0

Hi Andrew,

CPU is just as important in being not over 100% as the GPU.
If using an Intel processor then turn off the Hyper-Threading (SMT). And if it is Intel 12th+ generation then turn off the E-Cores (efficiency cores) too.
If you are using AMD then turn off Simultaneous multithreading (SMT).
These settings otherwise may cause needless CPU loads on Aximmetry processes and might not be even visible in Aximmetry's CPU performance meter.

Also, we are aware of the issues with the audio and we are working on a more stable solution.

Warmest regards,

SMT off did the job, at least for now, thank you!

Hello. We're still experiencing same problems with Aximmetry version 22.4.1. The sound is lagging approx 16 frames. Change in delay values don't give any effect.

SMT- off

CPU not overloaded, GPU is in 75 to 90% load.

Moreover we started getting random clicks from time to time.

Update. The delay occurs when we switch to UHD resolution using DNxHR codec. Using the same codec and FHD resolution solves the problem. But we need UHD. Choosing UHD option does not affect Fps or processor load.

Are you recording internally to DNxHR in 4K in Aximmetry? That would definitely put a big load on the entire system, even if it doesn’t show on the CPU meter. I advise getting an external recorder like an Atomos that supports recording in 4K. This will give you a better, much more stable experience.

So we got an External recorder. All of the above issues are still relative.

GPU is at 50%
CPU is at 45-50%

Not sure where to look.  To me it looks like Aximmetry or maby hardware accumulate errors and they become worse in the course of time. Can't imagine myself recording an hour long show. It's not gonna end well.

It hurts not to be able to give the recorded files to the client right away, but to go into audio post instead. Also random  clicks are super nasty sometimes.

Here are the specs of the machine

Hi Andrew,

I have good news, the next major release of Aximmetry will most likely fix your Aximmetry audio issues. It will contain major changes in how Aximmetry handles audio.
Until that, we apologize for any inconvenience the bad audio quality has caused or causing.

Warmest regards,
