Axy and SpaceMouse

 

Hi there.

Is anybody using 3dconnexion's SpaceMouse Compact with Aximmetry?
I was hoping to get better/smoother Control when positioning e.g. Cameras with that SpaceMouse then with the regular mouse.
But although the SpaceMouse driver recognizes Axy as an App, all I get out of it is simple back/forth travel.
Basically the same as with the regular mouse wheel (just smoother... :-)).

Am I doing something wrong, or are there any plans on supportin SpaceMouse better in the foreseeable future?

SpaceMouse isn't directly supported. But we added it to our request list and we will consider adding it in future releases.

@trypnoiz: SpaceMouse is already supported in Unreal, so it’s just controlling the  camera in Aximmetry that we need support for.

Can you install SpaceMouse with Unreal 5.03?

Hi Rafaelaz,

We managed to install the plugin without any problem:

Make sure you copied the folder: C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxUnreal\Plugins\5.0\TDxUnrealEditor
To here: <Epic Games installation>\UE_5.0\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\
And then run Aximmetry->Install Plugins in Unreal for Aximmetry.

Also, make sure you did the requirements for plugin install, which are listed here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-aximmetry-de-users-unreal-engine-5/ue5-how-to-install-third-party-code-plugins-for-unreal-editor-for-aximmetry/#prerequisites

Sadly the SpaceMouse is not yet implemented in Aximmetry. But we have it on our list and are considering adding it in future releases.

Please, do it, Spacemouse is perfect for 3D movement, if we can read XYZ coord and rotations of Spacemouse  inside Aximmetry , we can move cameras with it in realtime, and "prerecorded" animation isn't a necessity. I can use Unreal with Spacemouse and see billboards of Aximmetry, canging cameras form Aximmetry but not all options work, and I've to grab unreal viewport to do the output, but this is the more near to use Spacemouse "inside"  Aximmetry (not really in Aximmetry, it's controlling from Unreal)
