Multi-machine setup problems

Hi,

I have a problem and I need urgent help.

My project is done in unreal and I have 2 render machines and 2 Panasonic PTZ.

Both machines working in standalone mode with there cameras work well.

The problem starts with the setup.

I'm using MixedCam_Unreal_A-B_Preview_3+3-Cam and I used cam 1 (virtual) and 4 (tracked) for system 1 and camera 2 (virtual) and 5 (tracked) for system 2

In my satellite machine my setup in renderer config is

And my project is in remote although I had to copy the unreal project in the same local folder because with a mapped network drive I was having performance issues.

With the Billboard part I was able to set it up and make it work

But with the tracked cam 5 It's not working and when I select the t cam5 in the panel it changes in control machine 1 but not in the satellite machine having the input 5 engine like this

My first question is: Are the following values overwritten?

I have the channel matrix with unified multi-machine setup

As you can see I've followed all the instructions in a couple of days and I'm start thinking that probably it's a bug. I have installed the last version 2022.1.0.

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Hi Gómez,

Your remote machine can render only one camera at a time. Here you selected two cameras for one machine:

The CAM 1, CAM 2, etc. selectors only serve editing purposes in a multi-machine one-to-one setup and only affect the controller machine. The remote machines always render the camera assigned to them.

You only have to switch between CAM 1, CAM 2, etc. to set up the camera paths and the placement of the billboards on the controlling machine. When you are finished with the setup you always have to switch back to CAM1 so that the controlling machine can fill its role which is rendering the Camera 1 image. Copied from: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/setting-up-a-multi-machine-configuration/#cameras

Do you want to switch between those two cameras on your remote machine using the controller machine?
It is possible to set up such logic in the Flow Editor. But I am not exactly sure how useful such a setup is in a real-world scenario. If you can, please describe your situation.
And if you want, I can show you how to set up the Flow Editor to change the remote machine's selected camera.

Warmest regards,

Hi Eifert,

I have a show where I want to switch between virtual and tracked without changing the compound.

As I have 2 camera inputs in 2 machines sometimes I want machine 1 tracked, machine 2 virtual and sometimes viceversa.

Yes I would like to change between virtual and tracked in remote machine dinamically. Please show me how to do it.

Best regards,

Hi Gómez,

You can actually do this without any editing in the Flow Editor. Just turn the 2nd camera engine to local and then it should render the fifth camera. And you can switch back, by turning the 2nd camera engine to Remote #1 again:

If more than one Cam Engine is selected to the same remote #, Aximmetry will select the lowest Cam Engine number on the remote machine.

If you want more direct control. You can edit the Camera compound and add a new control board.
Note, this will only work with 1 remote machine, for more machines you will need a bit more complex logic.
First edit Compound In-Place:

Inside the camera compound, delete these:

Copy the Select Camera pin collector, delete the Cam Engine pins and connect it to the If 21 module:

Add it to the Control Board:

And you will have 2 Select Camera boards (2nd one for the remote machine):

Warmest regards,
