Question on Aximmetry DE Camera Calibrator.

To my understanding, Aximmetry DE Camera Calibrator remove the "Shifting" or "Range gap" between the real footage to virtual world by assigning each Calibration Points a matching Focal Length (please let me know if I am wrong).

By doing so, does it affect the Aximmetry camera inside DE Composor? For example, if I set the focal length to 50 mm, is it equivalent to setting Focal Length in UE4?

Hi,

The focal length or FOV affects the camera inside Unreal. What happens is that Aximmetry translates the Focal Length into a FOV value and that is given to the Unreal camera and from that Unreal calculates the correct zoom level.

And yes, the Camera Calibrator (ver 2021.4.2) does that. It translates your zoom encoder zoom levels to a measurement unit that Aximmetry can use, so when you zoom the virtual camera also zooms with the correct levels. It can do more but most of the time people use it for that.

Warmest regards,
