Feature Request: WDM Output in Studio Version

Hi there.

I totally understand the reasons for limiting output options or having no NDI output in the Studio Version.
It would be great though, if a WDM output could be added to Studio.

In that case one could pipe the Axy output (on the same computer) as a 'webcam' into software like Teams or Jitsi, while still keeping the price and feature gap between higher Axy versions.

Cheers & all the best.

Eric.

Hi Eric,

We added your request to our list. And we will consider it in future releases.

Until that, you can use a 3rd party software like OBS Studio. Output a video to a monitor in Aximmetry (can be even your only monitor), then in OBS add Window Capture as Source and Start Virtual Camera. After this, you can add the OBS Virtual Camera as a Camera in the Devices menu of Microsoft Teams.

Warmest regards,

Hi Gabor.

Thanks for considering!
TBH a really cool software like Aximmetry shouldn't need to rely on other software like OBS....:-)

Definitely looking forward to whatever the next release may bring!

Cheers & all the best.

Eric.

Is there any news on this? I have tried by opening a preview monitor but I cannot get this become borderless/full-screen.

Hi RikvdReijen,

What is your intended use case? If you want to achieve full-screen output on your computer monitors, you can drag and drop the monitors onto the Video Outputs:

Also, I should have mentioned in my previous post that WDM doesn’t offer the greatest quality, so using it professionally should be avoided.

Warmest regards,

Hi @Eifert.

It's for sure not the best quality, but that's not the point.
WDM could be used as a simple input for software like Teams, OBS, or other videoconference software where quality can be neglected to a certain extent.
It's just a great feature and definitely a 'nice to have' :-)

Cheers & all the best.

Eric.

Hi Eric,

You're right. My concern is that someone might read this and choose to use the WDM workaround in a professional setting instead of, for example, using NDI, especially when they already own a professional or broadcast license.

Warmest regards,
