Tracked Cam / Studio orientation issue

Hi

I have some issue, most likely my own doing but am lost.

We have setup with the Axi Camera Calibrator, so its taking our settings and sending them into the Tracked data.  In the Calibrator app, we are centered and it looks fine there, and the rotation seems 'ok' but when the project opens in Axi its as if there is a base rotation. The scene + studio are 0'd out, so at a loss.. any pointers? The real world poles have a laser from camera pointing on them, while the 3D pole is completely offset, trackers are putting out very close to 0'd data

Ok so made a new project entirely and the issue was persisting. Uninstalled Axi, reinstalled and redid all the base project files and the Studio was then aligned properly center. So not sure what i did but somewhere must have added a rotation within one of the compounds... could not find it.

Anyway, even with this all done, i cannot seem to get the Tracker + Camera to perfectly rotate and match the real/virtual poles. Is there a more of an indepth demonstration for doing with with Antilatency?

Hi, its in the Broadcast Edition only, it would show up in the Program Files folder for Aximmetry if you have it

Thank you steki very appreciated. As I am novice and an indie director can you please tell me if you know:

I am using Vive Controller as tracker and in my scene I can pan tilt but I cant travel with the camera. I mean when I move my tracker 3 meters forward I get only few cm movement in virtual scene. Is this because I do not calibrate the manual zoom function or is this something else I should look at.? This is not your thread about this I know but I am lost :-( I'd be thankful if you can reply. + I am using the tracked cam billboards compound.

where you have your Mixed Cam or Tracked Cam compound, press CTRL while mouse hovering over the out pin for Cam Transform, and have someone move your tracker around. If its still only doing rotations, then perhaps the Steam Base Stations are not setup proper and you can assess them. My experience with Steam before, didnt have this so i am not sure on the trouble shooting to suggest, but first, see if data is actualy coming in and if it is, see if its making sense, maybe its coming in as 1cm instead of 1m for instance and you need to multiply it a bit.

Steki0 you just jump started me..

"Tracked Cam compound, press CTRL while mouse hovering over the out pin for Cam Transform" you said and I NOTICED I DON.'t have the Cam Transform Pin :-)

This on the left sie compound is what I'm trying to work with. But instead I should have used the one on the right is that correct.?

If this is the case for my going nuts I will feel stupid :*)

Your not likely wrong with your choice, but i have been using the Mixed Compounds for a while as it just made life a bit simpler. Maybe try that, as it should expose the pin (also change the cameras in your UE level and cook again)

Will try. By the way you asked in your concern " Anyway, even with this all done, i cannot seem to get the Tracker + Camera to perfectly rotate and match the real/virtual poles. Is there a more of an indepth demonstration for doing with with Antilatency?

Maybe this link is the solution you seek..? Check it out and Much appreciated. Hope we both can solve.

Thanks for the link, yeah i had looked at it before, but it seems to skip lens distortions and uses the Zoom but i wasnt really getting why, and it seemed a guess, which is fine but would prefer to know 'why' an action etc. Might give some of the suggestions a try again though, no harm eh..

Hi Steki0,

To get back to your problem of:
"i cannot seem to get the Tracker + Camera to perfectly rotate and match the real/virtual poles. Is there a more of an indepth demonstration for doing with with Antilatency?"

To my understanding, you are using calibration points with Aximmetry Calibrator. If so, you want to follow the documentation here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/basic-lens-calibration-without-lens-distortion/
You might want to do 2-4 calibrations where you redid the calibration points. This way you can see if your calibration got better or not.
If you are still not satisfied, feel free to share a video of virtual poles, this might help us to figure out what might go wrong or could be improved on.

Warmest regards,

;
