Encoded digital lenses

Hello :) I was wondering what the possibilities are when using a tracking system like Vive, Antilatency or OptiTrack AND broadcast lenses, that do their encoding internally, so you don't need external encoders like glassmarks.

In my research I only found the EZtrack system. It's a Box that gets the data via cabel from the lens, consolidates it with the positional tracking data from your tracking system and sends it as one package to Aximmetry. So Aximmetry get's 6DOF tracking + zoom + focus.

Are there any other options? Image I invested already 50k in an OptiTrack tracking system and just need to integrate zoom+focus data from a broadcast lens. What are my options?

Hi,

Aximmetry can read lens data coming on Free-D and Visca. If your lens sends the zoom and focus over these protocols, then you don't necessarily need an EZtrack system.
You can set them up in the Edit->Manage Devices->Tracking Devices->Free-D or Visca.

Also, Aximmetry's Broadcast license has a Camera Calibrator solution, more on that here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/ptz-documentation/#calibration

Warmest regards,

Hi - thank you for your answer :) I still do not understand how I feed Aximmetry with the lens data (I do not speak about PTZs)?

For example, how do I connect a Canon CN7x17 KAS S / P1 to my Workstation? Thank you, best

You will need either a system that plugs on the lens hirose connector (I think that pro systems like ncam and mosys provide that for instance) or a separate encoder attached to the gear of the lens (like indiemark or the more expensive vanishing point's viper system.
