Using two tracking systems at once for different uses.

Hi, is it possible two use two different tracking systems at the same time in Aximmetry?  I currently use the Antilatency system, but can't have it cover all of the areas of my acting stage area due to to my large lighting grid over that area. My goal is to track my cinema camera with the Antilatency system and Aximmetry's Bilboards (or handheld objects) with a Vive lighthouse system. What do you think?

Thanks!

Scott

Should work fine, or get another Antilatency tracker so you can maintain the same eco system and avoid adding a less stable solution into the mix

Thanks! I actually have enough additional Antilatency hardware for a second system. But, I'm told (by Antilatency support) that I can't have split or multiple systems working at the same time... Is this true?

Hello,

Aximmetry can work with several tracking hardware simultaniously. However, as steki mentioned, staying in the same eco-system will give you fewer problems while calibrating and shooting.

Hi,

Do you mean having 2 separate floors working at the same time and connected to one computer? That is probably a limitation, you better connect the Antilatency support about it.

If you want to use 2 trackers on the same floor, that should work.

Also, they advise against using 2 trackers to track one camera for additional accuracy. And two programs (like Aximmetry) can not use the SDK/Driver at the same time. (I think non of these are a concern for you)

Warmest regards,

Thanks for your input on this. Before integrating a Vive solution. I’m going to take a stab at extending my Antilatency ceiling area with a few trackers towards the back of my stage. I risk potential occlusion from lights, but I’m hoping that tracking an actor’s billboard doesn’t need to be as accurate as a camera track. I think that it’s going to improve the look of my projects to be able to move the billboards along with the actors so they don’t look stuck to one point on the floor. Billboards are a brilliant tool to integrate talent into the scene and having the ability to move with the actor is even better. I know that Richard sometimes uses this method for certain projects and I’d like to give it a go as well. I’ll be looking forward to sharing my results!
