Install the compiled plugin in Unreal for Aximmetry required Visual Studio to be installed or not?

Hi Everyone,

like the title said when I was installing the compiled plugin in Unreal for Aximmetry, it is prompted to install visual studio( red lines in the snapshot below), but since the plugin had been compiled, I want to check that if installing the visual studio is mandatory or I have missed something to install the compiled plugin?

Thanks

David

Plug-ins need to be compiled specifically for the Aximmetry UE4 Editor. It doesn’t work if they’re compiled for standard UE4.

Thanks, TwentyStudios

So it's mandatory to install Visual Studio 2019 and recompile for the Aximmetry UE4 Editor.

Can I expect that if recompiling the plugin in our office then I can copy it to another machine(inside the customer's studio) without needing to install Visual Studio to recompile again for the Aximmetry UE4 Editor?

Yes, Visual Studio is a prerequisite for compiling plug-ins, so you need that to compile the plug-ins for Aximmetry UE4.

You shouldn’t have to compile the plug-in for all computers separately, so copying it will work. There might be instances where the plug-in has other dependencies, so make sure to copy those as well.
