Unable to render using H.265 video format

Hi,

I'm getting this error (Failed to initialize video codec for "Rec_0048.mp4": Invalid argument

Failed to create video file "Rec_0048.mp4") when i try to render the output in H.265 video format. Please someone tell me how to fix it.

Are you using an NVIDIA GPU ?

H.264/H.265 record using NVIDIA NVENC and dont work on anything but NVIDIA gpu's

Hi,

It is very likely the problem is what DeataProduction said.

Also, this can happen if you are trying to record interlaced (like 1080/30i) with H.264 or H.265. In that case, we suggest using DNxHD format.

Hi Eifert,

I tried to use 3840x2160 25p FPS only and i'm using Nvidia 3080Ti GPU still it is throwing error like that.

Hi Samuel,

You may want to try reinstalling Aximmetry.

Also, does this happen on lower VideoMbps or in H.264?
(Note, even if you set 150 Mbps, it is very unlikely that the encoder will save a 4k video in that high bit rate using H.265. If you really want that high quality, try using DNxHR or DNxHD)
