GPU Lightmass error

Hi,

I just installed GPU lightmass plugin in unreal editor for Aximmetry everything works fine but even after the light buid gets completed still the lighting needs to be rebuilt error in red is not disappearing. Please tell me how to fix it. And I tried to use ray tracing and in the camera setting i changed it to Rasterized shadow and ray traced reflection everything works perfect but i couldn't see any shadows followed everything correctly according to the document. Please tell me how to fix it as well.

Thank you.

I don’t know what might cause your GPU lightmass needs to be rebuilt error, but I recommend deleting all previously built lighting and all intermediate files from your project to start fresh.

Regarding shadows, do you mean the Billboard shadows are missing, or real-time rasterized shadows in general?

Hi Twenty Studios,

the Billboard shadow alone missing rest of the shadows are appearing without any issues even if the billboard shadow appears it is like very hard shadows if ray tracing is disabled. I followed everything as mentioned in the document but still not working for me.

If you don’t see any rasterized shadows from your billboard it’s probably because you don’t have any Moveable or Stationary lights in your scene that can cast shadows from it. Static lights don’t cast dynamic shadows. You’ll get hard shadows from Moveable lights. From stationary lights you can definitely get soft shadows if you set up your scene and lights correctly. This doesn’t have anything to do with Aximmetry, it’s just how real-time rendering works. You’ll get lots of information if you google +UE4 +Stationary +soft shadows.
