Blured billboard in UE4 studio. Allow virtuals effect.

Dear technical support and community,

Billboards in UE4 studio do not look clean, even after all recommendations are done (Enabled with Stencil and Support global clip plane for Planar Reflections). Disabling Allow virtuals is helping to get original picture quality but the reflection is not working, which is critical in my case.

Please help! Thanks!

The reflections should still work, even with Allow Virtuals turned off. Don’t know why it’s not working for you, but it’s probably a depth sorting issue in UE4, caused by the talent standing behind the desk.

The reason main the video looks different with Allow Virtuals on is that it still passes through the UE4 rendering pipeline, even if TAA is disabled on it and it compensates for the Tonemapper color shift. Try tuning the Bloom settings with a higher threshold or use Convolution Bloom instead. Chromatic Aberration will also affect image quality in the billboard negatively.

Thank you for the reply. Indeed after disabling TAA the picture becomes better. Other parameters did not change the picture materially.

Regarding the reflection, I've simply put Planer reflection in unreal on the top of the table and it helped.
