Control virtual camera (feature request)

Hi

Is it possible to control virtual cameras with a PTZ controller?

It would be great to be able to control and trigger presets for both tracked and virtual cameras from the same buttons. .
an example could be

- CAM1, 2 & 3 are PTZ and CAM 4 & 5 are virtual. If you press cam1/preset3 PTZ moves to preset 3, if you press cam 4/preset7 you trigger virtualcam 1/preset7

If you have Sony PTZ then you should be able to use Visca over IP as protocal and if you are using Panasonic cameras that are using Panasonics own protocol. Panasonic can also be control by NDI:s control protocol.
The only thing I can think of that dont work out of the box with a PTZ controller is virtual movement (up/down/forward/backward).

A better option would be to trigger the virtual and PTZ camera moves by assigning the trigger to the same button on a Streamdeck, using Companion. This wouldn’t replace the need for getting tracking data from the PTZ camera though, since there is no way the virtual and real camera moves would line up accurately enough without it.

As for moving the virtual camera, a Xbox controller is much better since it allows to move freely in 3D space.

Hi,

PTZ controller might be using their own proprietary protocol. But if it uses Free-D or Visca or any such format supported by Aximmetry, you should be able to get them in Manage Devices of Aximmetry and using Camera Tracking compound. However, you will probably have to parse the transformation coming from your Camera Tracking to fit your needs.

Warmest regards,
