Is it possible to get audio from R3D video clips? There seems to be no audio coming through.

Hi Eifert,
We need to align the R3Ds which contain scratch audio with separate audio recordings later. So when we export from Aximmetry we could retain the audio from the R3D, it allows to do an audio-based matching in a NLE against the scratch audio from the R3Ds.
Also it would help to hear the scratch audio within Aximmetry. Otherwise, we have to do a manual conversion step and somehow use a non R3D recording with audio in addition to R3d -- which takes extra time/work for each clip.
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the explanation, now it makes more sense to us why audio would be needed.
We will consider adding this in future releases.
Also, a new version of Aximmetry (2021.3.2) was released a day ago, with the following fix:
"Fixed that timecode was not read from R3D files."
Warmest regards,
Hello,
No, it hasn't been added yet. Keep an eye on our latest releases and fixes on the Software Version History page here.
Hi Jim,
R3D videos are mainly used for visual post-production. Aximmetry can open these files, but the audio is not supported because R3D files are used for their high-quality video compression and not for its audio. We recommend that you store the audio in a different file format.
Can you describe in what setup are you wish to use it and for what?
Warmest regards,
