Oculus tracking with DE and Unreal

Im having a heck of a time trying to get Oculus to work with DE. I've followed the  tutorial "Getting started with the Unreal engine based DE edition" and "Experimenting with HTC Vive camera tracking using Unreal scene"

I'm using Aximmetry DE and Unreal. I can get my virtual environment  into DE and I can get telemetry data when I set up Oculus with OpenVR within "manage devices" - I get updated data to set the  origin, forward and right points. At least that validates the Aximmetry is communicating with Oculus

However Oculus just "locks up", I can't get any movement of my virtual environment. When I go back to check Oculus under manage devices, there are no updates to the telemetry data when I move the headset. I have to restart DE.

I realize Oculus is considered experimental but hoping someone has had success and could share?

thanks!

Vive tracking is considered experimental, but I don’t think oculus trackers are even supported. I don’t think Oculus are being used anywhere for camera tracking because of the small tracking volume.

Hi,

Oculus is not directly supported and it is not even considered experimental. But you can use it in Aximmetry while using OpenVR.
The supported and experimental tracking devices: https://aximmetry.com/learn/faq/hardware-1/#which-aximmetry-edition-do-i-need-to-be-able-to-use-a-professional-camera-tracking-system

As TwentyStudios rightly said, the small tracking space might be the reason for your problems, for example, Oculus rift supports a
1.5 meters x 1.5 meters area of tracking space.

Warmest regards

I have tested oculus rift s in the previous version of aximmetry and it worked, in the studio version things seems to less straight forward (it has to be configured via device mapper)

For the sudden shutdown i know that occulus has a detector that puts the device in stand by unless you wear it and it should be bypassed in order to make it work in aximmetry

"C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusDebugTool.exe"

Turn on override proximity sensor.
