Cannot Install the Twinmotion for Unreal and Substance Plugins

Hey,

I ran into a problem today at the studio when trying to install the Twinmotion to Unreal plugins which also persisted when I tried to install the Substance plugin later-

I managed to install the Twinmotion Content for Unreal Engine Plugin?? just fine as any other plugin, but then when I tried to install the Datasmith Twinmotion Importer Plugin, it works fine in the normal UE4 client, but when I try to use the "install plugins" option in the Aximmetry UE4 client, it starts up and then gets stuck on "Installing Plugins".

I gave it a few hours the first time before giving up.

Later I've tried to delete the plugin and install the Substance plugin but ran into the same problem.


Any ideas on how to solve it?

We tested these plugins and it seems like the issue is caused by Twinmotion Content for Unreal Engine. After fixing this, Substance and Datasmith Twinmotion Importer should work without any problems.

The problem with Twinmotion Content for Unreal Engine is that it doesn't follow the usual naming conventions and this is not handled by us. We will fix this in the next release. Until then, you can use the following workaround:

1. Delete the "c:\Program Files\Aximmetry DE\UnrealEngine\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace" folder. If you made any changes manually in "c:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.26\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace", delete this folder too and reinstall the plugins from the marketplace.
2. After installing the Twinmotion Content for Unreal Engine plugin from the marketplace, rename the "c:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.26\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\TMtoUnrealContent" folder to "TwinmotionToUnrealContent".
3. Make sure you have at least 36 GB of disk space available on the disk where UE for Aximmetry is installed.
4. Run "Install Plugins" from the Aximmetry menu in UE for Aximmetry.

Please let us know if this resolved the error.

Hey, 

The solution worked for the TwinMotion plugins, but the Substance plugin still isn't working.

Hi Guyamit,

You could try installing first the Substance plugin with no other plugins installed. And then the rest of the plugins. We found no problems when installing Substance plugin or other Twinmotion Plugins with the fix.

If the problem still exists, please post what is written into the "Output Log".
