Is there any concern for the genlock signal type

Hello,

I saw some camera using a 1080 50i signal to genlock a 2160 50p format but not the 720 50p signal. Is there any concern in i frame or p frame genlock signal in Aximmetry?

Thanks!

Hi,

It is entirely hardware dependent. Aximmetry can only turn on or off the usage of genlock, but it depends on the specific SDI card what kinds it accepts for which formats.

@Zoltan

Hello, where can I use the function of synchronous phase locking in Axonometric?

Hi Maliang,

If you are referring to genlock, it is automatically used by Aximmetry. If you want to turn it off, you should do it on the hardware that provides the genlock.

1. I now input genlock signal to my red camera and BMD 8K acquisition card using the synchronization generator. Do you mean that aximetry software will automatically recognize the genlock signal from the acquisition card and lock the background rendering with the real-time video?

2. If the background rendering is combined with the anti degree tracking system, there is no genlock data. Do you need to lock the tracking data together? Is there any good way?

3. In this case, do you still check the sync option for the video output device in Figure 1 below? Is there a connection between them?

Hi,

Yes, Ref Input is like GenLock. Once you connect your various input devices with it, you don't need to worry about the sync between them.

Antilatency alone doesn't support genlock. If you are using Antilatency or a similar tracking solution, you will have to set the tracking delay in your Camera compound, like it is described here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/setting-up-virtual-sets-with-tracked-cameras/#inputs

This sync is not related to genlock or to ref input:

The Video Output Sync setting synchronizes your rendering frame rate with your output's frame rate. So in the case of a monitor like in the screenshot (NVIDIA RTX A6000 Generic PnP Monitor), the rendering frame rate will be adjusted to the monitor's refresh rate. If you don't use any sync, then the rendering frame rate can be changed in Edit>Preferences:

Warmest regards,
