Quick Question: MOS iNews support

Hi there!

Just a quick question. I saw in the version's release notes that starting  2025.1.0  there is a support for MOS protocol for ENPS using the MOS Runner Dashboard.

I was wondering if this also allows integration with Avid iNews (MediaCentral).

Many Thanks.

Hi,

Aximmetry supports the use ofthe  MOS protocol to communicate with several NRCS (Newsroom Computer Systems). Whether our currently implemented solutions work with the NRCS of your choice or not may require further testing. In case it does not work, we can implement a customized solution to support the NRCS of your choice, given that we can gain access to a test environment.

Warmest Regards,

Hi Eifrat,

Thank you very much for the clarification.

To give a bit more context: we are evaluating Aximmetry as a potential replacement for an existing Avid Maestro setup used for live news graphics and virtuals.

The key requirements are MOS-based integration with Avid iNews / MediaCentral and control via Avid Command for live production.

The main idea is to follow a rundown in iNews, where each story executes different MOS objects, internally linked to Aximmetry elements to trigger the corresponding graphics in real time. Additionally, journalists should be able to edit text/content simultaneously in the NRCS and have these updates applied directly in Aximmetry.

From your experience, do you think this workflow is feasible with the current MOS implementation, or would it likely require customization for iNews? If testing or development is needed, could you please let us know what kind of access, documentation, or test environment would be required from our side to evaluate or implement this properly?

Many thanks for your support.
Best regards,

Andrei.

Hi Andrei,

You should contact us at sales@aximmetry.com (this is also our general email account) for more direct communication. This will also allow you to test our latest MOS implementation with the newest version of Aximmetry.

Note that we have recently improved our MOS documentation, which you can find starting here:
https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/setting-up-inputs-outputs-for-virtual-production/mos/how-to-set-up-mos-in-aximmetry/
However, this documentation does not cover everything you will need. That’s why it is best to reach out to us directly by email, so we can assist you further.

Warmest regards,
