Hi :) I want to try the multi-machine setup very soon. This is what I have in mind:
- 2 Tracked Cameras
- 1 "Root"-Workstation for Aximmetry editor and rendering camera 1
- 1 "Slave"-Workstation for rendering camera 2
I want to use multiple NDI- and SDI-videostreams (pre-produced movies, screen inserts, etc.) in my Unreal scene. Like shown in this tutorial: https://aximmetry.com/wiki/index.php?title=Setting_Up_a_Virtual_Screen_in_the_Unreal_Scene Do I have to connect the root AND slave workstation with my SDI and NDI sources? Thank you!
Hi,
The short answer is yes.
For SDI you have to wire it into both PCs. The usual method is to use Device Mapper to map the the corresponding inputs onto the same input number on both machines, this way you can even use different SDI cards for them.
For NDI inputs you can do the same. Or alternatively you can simply use the NDI channel names inside your scene, since they will be the same from both machines.
