FAB content into Aximmetry version of Unreal

Could someone please offer some guidance on how to use FAB content or Megascan Environments in the Aximmetry version of Unreal Engine?

Some of the environment are not compatible with the current Unreal Engine version of Aximmetry is there a workflow that will work. Would asset or project migration be the way forward?

I'm pretty new to Unreal and Aximmetry and working through the many tutorials that are out there. So far I have made a basic few shaded shapes and managed to get my first very very basic scene up and running with a virtual camera and one billboard. I'd now like to try a few assets from the marketplace to see if I can move onto the next stage of learning.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated.

Hi,

Could you please clarify what you mean by “not compatible Unreal Engine version of Aximmetry”?
For example, are you saying that the asset is only compatible with Unreal Engine 5.5 or higher, while Aximmetry currently uses Unreal Engine 5.4, and therefore the asset is not compatible with Unreal Engine for Aximmetry?

You can find instructions here on how to use FAB with Unreal Engine for Aximmetry: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/obtaining-graphics-and-virtual-assets/creating-content-for-aximmetry-de/advanced-information-and-features/how-to-install-third-party-code-plugins-for-unreal-editor-for-aximmetry/#plugins-with-source-code

Hi Eifert,

Yes I was trying to use assets that where made for UE5.5 and was trying to see if there was a way to down grade the 5.5 project to work with the current UE for Aximmetry version. I now understand that that might not be quite that straightforward as the dependencies may break and the newer version of UE will have features that are also unsupported by an older UE version.

The link you've sent to install FAB will certainly be helpful.

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes, downgrading a project to a previous version of Unreal is very difficult.
However, the good news is that the next version of Aximmetry will very likely use Unreal Engine 5.5.

Warmest regards,
